Laser Whitening

What is it?

Brightening up discoloured teeth with with the use of a strong whitening gel and a high wavelength laser.

The procedure

Whitening gel is put on and activated by a high density laser.The gel is then rinsed off-to - to reveal white teeth!

Prices start from around £550.

What can go wrong?

There's little that can go wrong if done by a qualified' dentist. Most laser whitening treatments last between one and three years.

Crowns

What is it?

A crown is needed when a tooth is badly damaged by decay. It acts like a protective cap that fits over the tooth to restore it to its normal look.

The procedure

The tooth to be crowned is reduced to allow the crown to fit over it Provided both dentist and client are happy, it will be bonded into place.

Cost

From around £300 per tooth - but costs vary enormously.

What can gor wrong?

Sometimes there can be pain or an infection inside the tooth beneath the crown. In this case, root canal treatment is needed. With good oral hygiene, crowns should last for up to 15 years.

Cosmetic Fillings

What is it?

Amalgam-free fillings are a white composite made from glass particles and a synthetic resin.

The procedure

Decay is removed, the hole filled and the composite is moulded in the tooth, then set with ultraviolet light.

Cost

Epxect to pay £125 per tooth.

What can go wrong?

They make your smile look whiter and, brighter, but the results will last for up to five years because they're not as tough as amalgam fillings.
